MediaNet Group’s BSP Rewards Enters New Channel

--Selected to Build Private Branded Mall for WXEL-TV, Public Television and WXEL-FM, Public Radio--



 

MARGATE, FL – November 10, 2008 –MediaNet Group Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: MEDG), the largest online mall and affinity program platform through its BSP Rewards subsidiary, today announced that it has been selected to build a private branded web mall for WXEL-TV and WXEL-FM, public television and radio stations, respectively, that serve the communities of Broward, Palm Beach and Treasure Coast audiences in South Florida. WXEL is focused on providing local public media services to viewers, listeners and members a wide range of educational outreach and online programs, projects and services that extend the power and relevance of public television programming.

BSP will develop a private branded web mall for WXEL to extend to its viewer, listener, member and donor constituents as a new fundraising alternative. As a public broadcasting service, fundraising is critical to pursuing the mission of WXEL in providing educational, cultural and entertainment needs of the community. The BSP program will allow for all WXEL audiences to participate in fundraising activities through their everyday purchases. While WXEL audiences are typically loyal by nature, the BSP program provides continuity, customer loyalty, retention and acquisition opportunities.

The new mall will offer WXEL’s members an opportunity to shop online at Over 800 national merchants, earning rebates and discounts and cash value rewards and for themselves while generating continuous donations for WXEL.

WXEL-TV42, DTV42 and 90.7FM are licensed to the West Palm Beach-Ft. Pierce area. WXEL 90.7FM, the region’s public radio station, signed on the air in 1969 as an educational conduit to the community. WXEL 90.7FM is affiliated with NPR, National Public Radio. In addition to the programming of NPR, WXEL 90.7FM airs locally produced programming such as Classical Variations with Joanna Marie, Florida Forum, Uncorked!, Compact Discoveries and WXEL Opera Theater. Locally produced programming for 90.7FM totaled more than 840 hours in the past year.*

WXEL Television, the area’s public television station, signed on the air in 1982. WXEL Television is affiliated with PBS, the Public Broadcasting Service. Analog TV42 airs shows serving the educational, cultural and entertainment needs of the community with acclaimed national and local programming such as South Florida Today and Wealth & Wisdom. WXEL-DTV42 broadcasts one high definition channel plus two standard definition channels 24 hours a day, seven days a week. DTV42.1 airs an up-converted version of station's analog signal as well as high definition programming in prime time, DTV42.2 airs Create (a network of “how to” programs) and DTV42.3 airs a combination of programming from the Florida Knowledge Network, The Florida Channel and PBS Plus. In the past year, TV42/DTV42 has aired more than 1,100 hours of locally produced programming.* As part of the Federal mandate to convert exclusively to digital broadcast television, analog channel TV42 will go dark effective February 17, 2009. WXEL is a member of The Palm Beach County Cultural Council. The Palm Beach County Cultural Council is the largest private local cultural agency in Florida.
